Едет хмурый человек в троллейбусе и думает: «Вокруг ничего хорошего, одна тоска. Жена — ворчунья, дети — хулиганы, начальник — злодей…»

За его спиной ангел-хранитель с блокнотом и ручкой. Записывает мысли своего подопечного и думает: «Одна тоска, начальник — злыдня, жена — ворчунья, дети — хулиганы… Вроде было уже… И зачем ему это все время? Но раз заказывает — придется исполнять…»

И еще, братья, пожалуйста, всегда направляйте свои мысли на то, что истинно, что достойно, что справедливо, что целомудренно, что приятно и восхитительно, что нравственно и достойно похвалы. (Филиппицам 4:8)

The Story of an unhappy man

A sullen man took a bus to work and thought in himself: “there is nothing good around me, just boredom. My wife is grunting all the time, the kids are bullies, and my boss is a horrible villain…”

Behind the man stood his angel keeper with a notepad. The angel jotted down all the thoughts of his protégé and said: “Okay, this is a popular to-do list: bring boredom, the boss shold be a villain, the kids must become bullies and the wife shold turn into a grumbler. It seems to me, that I’ve already done this. Why is he keeping to wish those things? Okay, I’ll do it again, if you ask so.”

(Philippians 4:8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
